Criminal History Arrest Record Search

The Syracuse Police Department provides a copy of an individuals local criminal history/arrest record for a fee of $7.00.  In order to process this request, an Authorization for Release of Information form must be completed.  Please note the following:

  • In the space marked "Requesting Agency," please indicate to whom you wish this information is to be released.
  • The release form must include the applicants date of birth, Social Security number, legal name, maiden name or any other name used, and current address.  
  • The applicant must sign and date the form.
  • The applicants signature MUST be notarized if she/he cannot request the check in person.  

If you wish to make a request for criminal history information through the mail, please print and complete the Authorization for Release of Information form, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with a certified check or money order for $7.00 (made payable to the Syracuse Police Department)  and mail to:

If you are able to make the request in person, please print and complete the Authorization for Release of Information form, and bring it to the Syracuse Police Department, Identification Section, located on the 4th floor of the Public Safety Building, from 8:00am - 11:00am, and 12:00pm - 3:00pm Monday - Friday.  Please be sure to bring current government issued photo identification, and $7.00 cash, certified check or money order.  

Please note that the Syracuse Police Department  processes requests for criminal histories/arrest checks ONLY.  Information regarding final dispositions must be obtained from the appropriate court of origination. All checks are local checks only.
